As a new member reading your post, it makes me wonder how a "moderator"can be allowed to show their obvious distain, of a "cult" called Christianity.
I will think of you in my prayers.

I believe his comments are formed from his interpretation of historical and science-based facts. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Sorry you were offended.

The Jewish historian Flavius Josephus mentioned both Jesus and John the Baptist. He was not a follower, so can't be considered biased.
I have said this before in reply to a post by Davey, btw.

You have your belief ...... he has his opinion !
& you both have the same unfettered right to express that....

Let's ask our resident Nun ( in training..) how she sees this.... @Vintage Maven ..

As a moderator, as Darkwing Manor pointed out I'm entitled to my opinion.

There is no proof the Holy Grail ever existed.
At present it is a myth.

When buying and selling or collecting antiques its best to have some form of provenance to prove it is what it is claimed to be, this can be by having physical evidence of the item, expert opinion, hallmarks or actual facts.

As I said earlier the ancient Egyptians left behind masses of physical evidence which has been photographed in recent times upon discovery.
Proven artifacts and antiquities for all to see.

The Turin Shroud, a length of linen that for centuries was purported to be the burial garment of Jesus Christ , is also a fake.
Historical and scientific evidence points to it being a medieval creation.
It might be antique but it was produced by conmen to dupe the gullible.

When someone comes along with some proven physical evidence then I'm willing to listen, until then I put it in the same catergory as Leprechauns, Unicorns and Mermaids.

I'd like a winning lottery ticket to one of those US $400 million jackpots. (now ask me if I'm ever dumb/crazy enough to play the lottery.) Then I could afford all of the other stuff. My real holy grail is a cure for all of the auto-immune diseases that seem to plague half of the Antiquers. Me included. That will be harder to get than the ticket, so I'm keeping my dream list modest.

It is not for those who have faith, to cast doubt, and judgement on those who do not, for this is not the will of God. Rather, those who believe must be humbled by the Holy Spirit given within, so faith, in which it is intended, will live not in judgement, but peace, understanding, and unconditional love for humanity. ❤️Maven

As an atheist, please stop this malarkey. As an Antiquer who collects sterling, I have a sub set collection of altar silver, cibornia and chalices and the like, that I have bought from bankrupt (ironic in so many ways) Catholic parishes. I use them for corn flakes.

I did not wish to turn this into a debate, I certainly apologize. But, I was merely responding to a tag in this conversation by @komokwa I believe there is room for all to state where they come from, in a truly civil, understanding manner. ❤️Maven

Don't ever apologize for saying what you believe.
Your answer was from the heart....& I respect that .

Chandler doesn't seem to want to hear it though, & I say to that , if you don't like what's on, change the channel.....no one's forcing you to listen here.... but.....you have no right to tell Maven or anyone here to stop what they have to say, and that was the point of my post questioning Fish's statement .." wonder how a "moderator"can be allowed " .

Well....we're all allowed....Davey , Maven, Me, even Chandler is allowed to express themselves in an open and honest way......
But ya can't be tellin other folks, that they're not !!

In the end, belief is exactly that, belief. Belief doesn't need proof.
I respect all beliefs and believers, as long as they come with respect.

Exactly! I don't want to see this forum polluted like others the web. If I enjoyed insults, partisanship, and hate I'd try several communities on Reddit since they have plenty to spare. Please keep this community the relative oasis that it is.
