    Hi,

My father-in-law recently passed and we found these with some 'normal' sized napkin rings.. but they are less than an inch diameter. He immigrated from the Netherlands so, would be European. I can take better pictures when I am home. There is also a 'thimble' looking item that is too big (and smooth) to be a thimble. No marks that I can find. Any ideas what they are? Are they tiny napkin rings? Any guidance much appreciated

    Thanks! IMG_20200119_141458.jpg IMG_20200119_141531.jpg

In the Netherlands we use the small ones for breakfast and lunch napkins, which are smaller than dinner napkins. We don't eat hot meals for breakfast and lunch, only for dinner.
People who use(d) napkin rings generally had two in the same style, a big one and a small one, both with the same monogram.

    Welcome to the board.
If you intend to sell them. Polish them first.

I use cape cod cloths for all of my sterling silver polishing. By far the best product out of the many I have used.

If you want to use a polish, use a good cream polish such as Wright's or Simichrome. Don't ever use the aluminum foil or the stuff you dip into. Check out the threads posted by MrNate to see how wonderful silver can look when polished correctly.
