May have a piece missing from it.

 

Test it for silver.it could be a student project,the lines on the tubes don't appear to have been made by a machine.

 

It does not looks like silver to me and I don't find any marks. But it could be.
What makes you think there may be a missing piece?
I don't know why the holes on the back. I was thinking the tubes were part of something else and someone turned them into a project. Otherwise, the solder job looks well made.

 

I was looking at the two holes on the back with the other partial hole, and then the curve in the tube. Thinking that maybe something was attached.
But as you said it is soldered, and there does not appear to be missing solder.




I agree this is not silver.
I have seen pieces of this type and they are not particularly well finished, as evidenced by the tubes that don't join.

They look nice from the front for wearing, but were not expensive.

 

There could have originally been a jump ring or some-such-thing threaded between those two holes for a chain to slip through, so it could be worn as a pendant.
