Antique ashtray porcelain

    Today I found this handpainted ashtray in local antique store. can anyone identify it?

    Zooming in on the last image reveals part of the word Japan on the foil label. I remember that the crossed arrows are for a US importer from Japan but don't remember which one.

    Just a few days ago, I saw some cute figurines with these marks and mistook them as items of Porzellanfabric Kalk, Germany (until I found a "made in Japan" sticker under one and realized they were imported to America by Arnart Creations, Inco).

    Yes, Arnart. Homco has a little circle between the arrows. To me, it looks like a nappy--no indents for smokes.

    I dont understand nappy and indents, but found info about artnart and these ashtrays

    Most ashtrays, but not all, have little grooves to set the cigarette on. A nappy is a small dish with a handle, but it's an old-fashioned word. Anyway, people call things whatever they think will sell.

    This one have one at right side. Others like IT have to ( at eBay) search for ashtray porcelain and crossed arrows

    It is a single person ashtray. The piece attached is the rest for the cig.
