Everything is so clean. Wonder if the estate sale people did all that.
All of mine is coated with dust and pet fur.

How do these estate sales work?. In the U.K. everything gets shipped to an auction house. Is everything price labelled or do you make offers?
Looks like a nightmare to monitor - do they let everyone in at once? thieves could have a field day!

    Indeed!
It's in Buckhead, on the north side of Atlanta, very toney residential area, not super rich but not looking for their next meal either, upper middle class.

"The residential areas of Buckhead consist mostly of large single-family homes that are situated among dense forests and rolling hills. It is among the most desirable and wealthiest places to live in Metro Atlanta."

Did you see the film "Driving Miss Daisy"? The main house where movie was filmed is in Druid Hills, another toney neighborhood on the northeast side of Atlanta. Smaller than Buckhead but similar in many ways, it's where Emory Univ is located.
Another perfect location for estate sale type dealio's, large residential houses with some residents obviously having a shopping problem.:hilarious:

OMgoodness! They are so much fun too, but given what you collect, I doubt you'd be doing much buying.............

I buy, sell, and keep some things.....makes estate shopping very interesting!!:)

EXACTLY! because it ain't there! Even if it was there at one time, it has already moved into a relatives house OR, it's at some auction house down the street!:(

You are just NOT the average collector!!

And I so admire what you DO collect!!

And your ability to explain it and educate those like me who probably collect later antiques and collectibles. (and I do love what I collect too.....many things!)

I am among very old furniture type people!:) It's just that there are not that many collectors who are into very old furniture.

I have an appreciation for the type of furniture that you love.......I just couldn't afford it when I started buying years ago..........so I went/go for the turn of the Century Victorian stuff........Kitchen/bath are more Country....ecclectic at that!

Lots of Fenton's cranberry glass........panaled lamps, etc.

Whoa!!!! How do you really enjoy your things when you have SO MUCH! I saw the painting, too. Very nice. I started to think of my Mother, who obsessively collected to the detriment of the family bank account and relationships with her children. However, this makes my Mom look like a rookie!

That said, I'd love to walk through with a towel for my drooling. Plus, I'm going to show my husband....he'll appreciate my very small collections a little more.
