    Hi,
I have seen in the last 6 months people throwing out treasure. One family who just bought a house down the road threw out their dining room suite. A gorgeous Duncan Phyfe table, seven chairs, breakfront and a buffet. It was a 1920s to 30s set. I called a neighbor whose daughter was looking for a set. She came with the truck and hauled the set away. Two days later they put the other chair out. I took it and called my neighbor. She came down an hour later and tried to give me 250 dollars reward money. I refused and she started to cry. I went to her house a few days ago and the set polished up beautifully.

NICE find on that bangle. Now what to do with it.... Here in CT they're talking about banning ivory sales, including the antiques. How they expect banning vintage and antique pieces here to protect elephants from poaching for the Asian market I have no idea. That's where the market is.

I watch over my shoulder when listing ivory-colored fabric.(sigh) After having a cow bone necklace pulled because I didn't specify the species of cow. There used to be a real (ahem) following me around and reporting every chance she had. She may have gotten tired of that and gone home by now, I hope, but there's always another Darwin Award Honorable Mention waiting in the wings.
