This vase is roughly 10.25" x 5.5" and 4 lbs. It's incredibly reflective, so it is hard to photograph straight on without showing a mirror image of everything in front of it. Also, the glaze easily picks up fingerprint oils. The pics don't do the color justice!

    Anyone recognize it? Thanks!

Looks like a Glaze Cowan Pottery used called Larkspur Lustre. Shape also looks Cowan, though others did a similar ones. Will look in our Cowan books when we get a few minutes. You can also try googling Cowan Lustre Blue vase and checking the images. -Joe

Thx, Joe. Yes, the glaze does look a bit like a Cowan vase, but all the ones I've seen have bases that are entirely bisque, not just a bisque ring surrounding foot glaze like mine. I'm curious to see what you find in the books.

Yeah I was hoping for some very light cowan impression on the base, and I do agree the bases are not generally glazed

Now that I think about it, the Roseville Rosecraft line looked very similar and the bottoms were often glazed except for the foot ring.

That may be the line, Joe.
The closest I could find from Roseville Rosecraft was this one on Ebay:

The base is closer, but the glaze is not as mirror-like and the vase shape a bit different. Could my piece be a modern Chinese monochrome blue vase?

Looked through 2 Cowan books and didn't find that exact shape, but many very close. Also found a pair of Cowan Larkspar Lustre Candle holders in our stock that do have the Blue glaze on the bottom. My guess based on the shape, glaze and clay would be Cowan, 1920's or 1930's. Pretty vase in any case! Cheers - Joe!
