Does anyone recognize this backplate/escutcheon/trim plate/rosette? The knobs are 1950s Weiser passage knobs in a satin bronze & chrome finish (looks like copper). I have searched every antique store & architectural salvage, I find tons of the knobs but no back plates this size. The outer dimension is 3-3/4” & inner dimension is 2-1/8”’ so larger than most.

We probably have one out in the locksmith shop. We have bins and cardboard boxes running over with old knobs and lock parts. It might take a day or two or three to dig around. I'll ask my husband because, oddly enough, he always seems to know exactly where something is even though he stashed it away thirty years ago. We work on a lot of old houses that get modernized when they're sold and we never throw anything away. I feel sorry for my kids - when we are gone they'll have the house, the locksmith shop and the storage facility to sort out.

My family is the same way! It is so sad that people get rid of the original stuff, they don't make them like they used to. That is why I am so desparate to find these. We are trying to restore our house to it's original 1955 glory, but these are a tough one to find. I have checked every antique hardware salvage, Craigslist, ebay & shop in Portland but no luck?
