Looks like maybe the wood was there to add some weight to the base, perhaps to help prevent tipping over. If it's an electric lamp, not sure what are you're wanting to do to raise it that required removing the wood - just curious, since it doesn't really matter now anyway.

Might be because my Mom was a 'Rosie the Riveter' (actually, she was Dorothy the driller) in a Wichita plane factory during WWII, but can't even imagine not having a drill - she gave a new 20v lithium-ion cordless drill set for Christmas and I was thrilled...

Yours are termed studs since they don't have heads. That simple.
You can make studs from all thread which you can get at Home D or Lowe's at about 3' long and cut it with a hacksaw.
There are tricks to this to make use of it easier and with cutting, and if you buy it ask me.

The wood piece weighed about the same as a marshmallow.

The lamp weighs about 7-12 lbs..

 

What are we talking about? Why would I need to replace those?

My actual problem right now is that the long pipe (that's in the middle, holding the upper half of the lamp together) that has the spirals (the screw effect) in both ends of it doesn't have enough of that since things have moved around.
Is there a way to continue the spiral?

I'm so done with this whole failure of a thing. And I can't even explain what I mean because I don't know what those are called.

 

Because if the studs are damaged and not useable they will likely have to be replaced...of those are still an option to use.

You know.... This invisible lamp doesn't help me help you since I have to extrapolate solutions that may or may not be appropriate.

You can also buy a continuous threaded tube and cut that to the length you need. That may be available at Lowe's or HD. If not you'll have to go to a lamp/lighting shop.

Maybe if it was apart and not assembled as in those photos. They're not of much use that way.
You want to make it taller? Is that it?

 

No, right now I just want to make it the same way it was before this whole failed attempt to better it.

I have two options:

1) Somehow expand / continue the threading of the middle pipe / tube by an inch so that the structure of the lamp can be anchored to the bottom of the lamp and the upper parts aren't going to be left loose.

2) Somehow recreate the wooden plaque that I just destroyed (and not have to do anything else). For that I have a couple of options when it comes to materials: Wood, metal, plaster. They are all basically impossible for me to make anything out of except plaster, which is the worst and most impractical of them all.

I hate this.

 

You should be able to find a coupling and a short piece of tube at L and HD.

What will I do with a new piece of tube? The diameter, etc. would have to be exactly the same because the tube is connected to the two last pieces at the top of the lamp and those won't go together with just anything.

I have to guess.
Take the lamp to the store and get help with it.

What store? People around here don't repair lamps, they throw them out and buy new ones, tragically.

I also don't have any money to spend on this right now.
