Found this 20x26inch gouache portrait of cat Billy by UK artist Vic Granger who usually painted sporting dogs. The little side portrait featured is a nice painted extra too.
Think the CS thought it was a print (as there are lots of his prints about) hence the £1 price.

    'Allo Billy! Nice kitty!

They churn them out. Some are very attractive and some... aren't.

I actually found this Roseville Pine Cone candleholder Thanksgiving weekend, but I just got around to taking the photo today. This was not exactly a "budget purchase," but the dealer did come down over 10% without my even asking. I had never seen a piece of Pine Cone in the wild before, so I considered for a few minutes and decided to buy - he had a few other pieces, but much larger and consequently a lot more expensive.

Loved the whiteness of this Tiffany & Co vase. From what I have read this is from Sintra Portugal, though the stamp does not indicate this. Another similar piece is stamped from Portugal.

Just had to get out and about to the CShops today. Nice floral silver brooch, the earrings are silver, not sure if the bars are titanium. The necklace is quite small and plating worn off but for less than a $1 for that and $2 equivalent for the brooch and earrings I was pleased.

The pattern is Sintra (1995-1998) but not necessarily from Sintra. (In fact, don't think Sintra has any porcelain makers.) Tiffany did import its porcelain from Portugal though. I suspect it was manufactured by Vista Alegre but don't know for sure. Someone else might.

I’m finding vintage moonglow in Lucite not glass. The glass beads seems to be referred to as cats eye. Is it moonglow description for both glass and Lucite OBB? Mine are def glass beads. Thanks

Ah, if they're definitely glass, then fibre optic I suspect, rather than moonglow.

Very nice! I have always enjoyed Roseville Pine Cone although surprisingly I only have one piece, an small ashtray. Pine Cone can get expensive in better shapes and in larger pieces. I personally really like the look of blue Pine Cone although my parents have a few small Pine Cone bowls in their collection in green.

I'd probably call it catseye too, or satin catseye glass. Most of the time when I see something called fiber optic it's a long narrow bead, or at least not round. More tubular. You can see the fibers. They also tend to be clear or pastel. The round ones are much brighter yellow.

Not even vintage, but I thought they were fun, so I would share them. I have a few sets of jade foo dogs, but these are resin. Toscano. Not bad looking for resin, though. IMG_4859.jpg IMG_4861.JPG IMG_4862.jpg IMG_4863.jpg

I had some fabulous vintage dress finds this week, all in "worn once and then carefully stored" condition. My best shopping day in months!

No maker label, black and pink silk, classic late 1950s:

And not one, but TWO, 1970s Emilio Pucci dresses. One in soft silk jersey knit and one in a lush velvet:

Also, 1970s India gauze dresses like this one are very popular:

And last, but not least, a groovy 1960s lime green A-line with woven-in gold polka dots:
