    I agree, with komo, glued in stones (glass?) rules out platinum.
    I'm not sure you will find a hallmark on your pretty brooch. Hallmarks are only found on precious metal, and only from countries that have a hallmarking system, which means the metal is tested by an assay office, an official agency.
    The mark could be a manufacturer's mark, or a production code. I hope a close up will show us the mark.
