Picked this up at a sale cause I liked it. Anyone have any thoughts as to which organization these fine fellers might be members of?

Very interesting! I would only be taking a wild*ss guess if I said anything. Hopefully this'll get a group rolling.

I buy a lot of random photos, usually for myself, and have a hard time parting with them - but this could be a great collectible...

The commonality amongst the gentlemen are that all of their arms are crossed with the exception of the man in the front row second from the left. His hands are exposed but crossed as well. To me, the image has a haunting to it as well as makes me want to eat donuts.

There's one more instance in the photo which is not in keeping with "commonality" (or the word "gentlemen").

That would be man in the front row second from the right side of the photo (the one sitting with his legs "spread-eagled").;)

I think its a theatre or drama group, it appears to be a back drop behind them.

Good point about the no-socks, Gatortail (and thank you for not being "upset" with my "observation"). ;)

I see two backdrops (centered and left) and a chair in the distance to the right. Makes me think it is a photography studio of some kind rather than theater stage. I feel the ceiling is too low for a stage as well, but doesn't mean I'm right...

why be upset? i just smoked a whole chicken and had a beer. I'm living the damn dream.

    Seems like it to me...

I can't fit it into the scene itself, but the smocks and caps the men along the back are wearing along with the bare feet almost look like preparation for a baptism of some kind.

Whyyyyyy????? Can't you buy a gas cooker with lava rocks anymore?? every one we've had in the last few years (cheap, admittedly) come with a metal plate that completely decomposes within 6 months - can't take the heat.

Of the 6 neighbors I can see from my back yard....each one has a bigger gas bbq than the next......I never hope I see the day where one of them doesn't properly maintain their rig........Not after I've seen what a 20 pound propane tank can do to a building !

"Fraternal" organization with the latest class of recruits and the 5 "officers" in front - wearing the robes that identify their roles.

Not Masonic because no one's wearing an apron.

I had an very cool vintage Italian espresso maker explode in my face - the lid flew off, denting the stove hood and sprayed a mist of coffee over the entire kitchen. It was a bit of a crime scene. Luckily, I had on glasses - I'd never used one before and was staring straight down into it.

I'd been in the hospital two times that year, and as the shock wore off, the first shaky thing I said was, "I just don't want people to be talking about my last trip to the emergency room!" haha

I've always taken pride in not being accident-prone, like some people we all know - but too bad getting older means... whatever it means :)
