Hi all, have been a long time collector since my Mom started taking me to antique auctions when I was around 8 years old. My main collectibles are oil lamps, insulators, toothpick holders, Blue willow, and Franciscan ware. I also repair and refurbish spinning wheels and furniture.
Hope to have fun here and learn alot!

Rayo56, I am fascinated by your "I also repair and refurbish spinning wheels" statement.

I'm just curious but . . . do you perform that service for historical museums or just "regular folks" who own spinning wheels?

Welcome. Just curious, is your name Rayo after the lamps?

Yes - I have quite a few Rayo and Aladdin lamps. I'll buy a bunch of lamp parts and assemble and electrify them. The good ones I just keep as oil lamps.

My wife and her friends are heavily into turning raw fiber into yarn and then knit all sorts of items. I mostly just repair their wheels (but I have repaired wheels from as far away as California) and make pieces parts that they request instead of purchasing them, I have a wood shop in my barn. I found these 2 pics of my shop in one of my folders.

    Hola and welcome, Rayo!
    Wow, what a MAN-CAVE!
By the way... nice avatar... looks like an American Red-Wing Blackbird? Is it?

    EDIT
I think you have a bird called the Red-Wing Starling that looks similar?

    I've been told I'm psychic! !

Look for posts from bdigger. He has 12, (I think now) black cats, plus Cooper who is the new grey and white baby of the family.

    GaleriaGila Hola, y'all!

Ahhhh, thanks, Rayo. Yep, plenty of cat-folks here.
Bird-wise, I'm your girl! And there are a couple of others...
I'm guessing you took that picture... I love it. Red-Wings are very common here, and range from wayyyy Northern Canada down through South America. And apparently in Africa, too. Very successful species. I'll have to read up on where they originated and how they spread.

    WOW! Wonderful!
    "Indian Runners", right?
I have seen pictures and read, but you're the first person I know who has some! They are said to stand up like penguins and really actually RUN, as opposed to waddling.
    Thanks!
