Medal or just a brooch?

    Can you help identify this? Is it a medal from an order or just a brooch? It's about 2 inches wide

    Do they ever put pearls, even faux ones, on award medals? I vote brooch. There was a thing in the 60s for military touches in accessories.

    No pearls for so far I know.
    But you might find some with diamonds.

    This brooch is however, closer to a military insignia, then to a medal ....

    Think it's a fantasy piece, but as much like the star of some royal order as a military award.

    Fleur de lys, cross of Malt, wheat of leaf, ...
    It is all there but not the right design.

    There was a jewelry company in the 50s-60s that made this large, ceremonial looking stuff. I had a few pieces that could either be used as a brooch or a pendant. Someone on here should know the name of the company. I haven't sold any jewelry in awhile so my knowledge base is buried in my brain cells.

    I've always just called it heraldic jewelry, or mock heraldic. There were a pile of companies who made it, and 90% of them didn't sign anything. So... who knows.
