Featured 4 Victorian water colours

    I got these 4 unsigned postcard size water colours in an old frame.
    The glass was cracked and the frame was rotting and came out of a damp home.

    I gently took it apart and found an old postal envelope used as backing, the stamps are Edward VI dated 1906 with addresses in South Wales and Berkshire.
    I think the framer used anything that was laying about as backing so the envelope is not really important in dating and locating the pics.

    3 of the paintings have pencil notations on the reverse with the location and one has the location written on the front.

    I require some help reading the full text.

    Pictures of the 4 paintings with reverses will be shown in the next post.

    The first one reads
    From the garden ???????? Alderney

    Channel Islands.

    The second one I can read.
    Rozel Bay, Jersey 91 (1891)

    Third one all I can make out is July 85 (1895)

    It looks like somewhere in the Lake District.

    Fourth one has the writing on the front, all I can read is Sept 85 (1885)

    Looks like Queenstown, but i don’t know if that makes sense. :)

    I see towards & enlargement does not change my mind. It's the view looking from Garden (not entirely convinced this is correct) towards Alderney.
