    I bought these pieces Friday night at the auction because they looked very interesting to me & sometimes I can't stop myself from buying baked dirt. :shame:;):eek::rolleyes::p :hilarious:

    The first bank is 2 1/2" to the top of the ears & is 5" from nose to butt. No markings of any kind that I can find.

    The other bank is 3 5/8" to the top & is 5 5/8" from nose to butt. No markings of any kind that I can find.

    Thanks for any & all advice or opinions!!! :kiss::kiss:

    Yes Gila, you would have to smash them so it would make you think long & hard before you took the money. ;) :happy:

    Thanks crowleys & welcome to the Antiquers board!!! :happy::happy::happy:

    Do you have any idea of the age?

    Off to research Roseville piggy banks. :D:D:D

    I wonder if they're both Roseville.

    Thanks for the welcome, but I've been around for a couple years. I don't have time to post due to an illness in the family.

    I think Anund is right on the other pig...shape shown in Bomm's ROSEVILLE IN ALL ITS SPLENDOR p. 58. I've never seen a blue spongeware Roseville pig, but I've seen brown and green spongeware Roseville banks (in a cat head and beehive.) BTW, these date to the early 1900s.

    Thanks crowleys!! :kiss::kiss:

    I don't remember seeing you here before, but I certainly do remember you from the ebay boards. I am sorry to hear that you have a family member that is ill.

    I did a little checking around & found 2 just like the sitting pig. I also saw at least 1 that had the same feet as the other one & it was ID'd as Roseville.

    The expression "Going hog-wild," comes from what happens when a really BIG piggy bank is opened.

    I vote early R-ville for both...for what it's worth at this point.
