Hi! I found these gorgeous plates in an antique store today, but there were only two blue/gold/white ones. The rest were burgundy and yellow. Does anyone know what style of plate this is? I've tried researching and haven't found anything. I'd love to know what to search so I could find more. 20191122_130101.jpg 20191122_135839.jpg

Hello and welcome to the board.
I have had no luck tracking down the mark.

It looks like the mark is over the glaze. Which means there is the possibility that it is an importer's mark and not the maker's mark.

Looking at your plated, I would date them to pre WWI possibly as early as the late 1800s. The McKinley Act required import marks after Oct. 1890.

Wow, thank you! Even though tracking down the mark was unsuccessful, that knowledge is super helpful. Even though I've collected for a while, I'm still new to learning about them, the marks and styles.

In the collecting game, it is an on going learning process. Everything it the antiques and collectibles world opens a new door to another area. I'm still learning (and being corrected), and I've been selling for over 40 years.

what exactly does that mean ? we still don't know by whom the plate is ?

Well I guess I read janet's link to mean the H & Co stood for the importer. I read your post to mean you thought the H & Co was Haas & Czjzek.

I don't always interpret correctly. Maybe I misunderstood.

No, we still don't know who made it, only who imported it, but the same is true for a lot of things.
