I have a very similar Eickholt egg - is it some sort of odd reflection, or has the top been ground off?

It is cut/polished at an angle yes... It is as polished as the rest of the egg so I'm thinking it was originally made like that.

Paid under $10 equivalent at a market today. The malachite brooch is set in silver. 18k fine chain bracelet (under half a gram but will add to the scrap pile). 14k larimar pendant with 9k chain. Double sided Jesus in Perspex teardrop, assume plastic interior but can’t find another online. Base metal chain. Jewelcraft bracelet.

I've always liked perspex pieces. Larimar turns up here occasionally; we've got a pile of Dominicans in my state and that's where they mine the stone. Seeing it in gold is rarer.

Took me a while to figure out the 14k mark.

I guess I’m collecting wall plaques now too. Not from a specific maker as far as I can tell, all of these have different marks. Not sure of their meanings yet. I definitely have a preference for the blue ones. 93F37A95-A49B-4AE2-B87D-56D773E5434C.jpeg A48A212E-DCE3-43C2-8EB1-48A199EF43EB.jpeg 7343261F-3D48-4EFB-B399-8134ED86F453.jpeg

And of course some more jewelry. CBC25512-1067-4B8C-AD40-1396305E3674.jpeg This darling was definitely repaired. Catch and pin is newer. Eye catching just the same. No marks, silver.

I think its a crest? I looked at the austria-hungary crest and it’s a double eagle like this one is but the stuff in the middle and some of the little marks on the wings looks different. Artistic liberty? Who knows. It’s very worked, whatever the case and wonderfully heavy.

Wasn't expecting to even go anywhere today but had to make a quick run out for food - stopped in the Goodwill for 2 minutes and grabbed this Maori carving:

You might want to look for others, but will have to say that I've acquired many art glass eggs over the decades, including at least two Eickholt (my egg collection is packed away) and while the sides might be ground for artistic effect, have never seen any with the top ground like that - suspect it was damaged and taken in for 'repair'...

Jivvy the research is my favorite

I think it's the Lesser Coat of Arms of the Russian Empire (1721-1917).

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coat_of_arms_of_Russia

"The Lesser Coat of Arms (Малый государственный герб Российской Империи) depicts the imperial double-headed eagle, as used in the coat of arms, with the addition of the collar of the Order of Saint Andrew around the escutcheon of St. George, and the Arms of Astrakhan, Siberia, Georgia, Finland, Kiev-Vladimir-Novgorod, Taurica, Poland and Kazan on the wings (seen clockwise).

    From todays clearance.

A Herbert Terry Anglepoise lamp. c1932

Herbert Terry are regarded as the creme de la creme of lamps in the UK

However this one is not a desk lamp, it is a free standing one with cast iron legs and brass castors with a built in midway table.
It still has its original wiring.

The deceased was a Londoner and apparently this lamp is from a Gentlemens reading club in London

It has a brass bar between the table and the springs to hang ones book over whilst taking a whiskey and cigar.
I wonder if @Ownedbybear knows the club?

The markings on the shade I thought was nicotine staining but its actually the pattern.

Any chance it's worth more than scrap? Last one I destroyed the base weighed 45 grams.

I know a dealer who'd love that, but I think he buys them for his own hoard rather than for resale.

@daveydempsey - love the lamp. There's a fair few clubs it might be.
