Thought it looked interesting for the price and figured I would ask here before inquiring with seller. Looks like it has a belt loop in back and I think I see a zipper popping out of photo in bottom right corner of one the photos. No clue who dunnit or when. Anyone know?

Photos of the inside, please and the zip if you can get the seller to send them. Looks either just post WW2 if it has a zip, or 1930s if not.

I’ll ask tomorrow. I sent a message asking they knew anything about it. Looks like a zipper in photo. Any meat on bone at $12 if it’s post wwii?

Not a lot either way, I suspect, it's not showy enough. I'd pay up to ten quid if I were keeping it.

Personally, I don't do well with beaded bags. So I would pass, particularly with the damage

Art deco with what appears to be a skyscraper-inspired motif. (The design would be upside down when the bag was held.) The strap is to hold gloves once they're removed. In more recent years, beaded bags came from Japan and then Hong Kong but the earlier ones came from France. Interesting re zip. They're usually flapped but this one wasn't an expensive thing in its time.

Seller said it belonged to her grandmother. Seller is around 50 it seems. Could place in anywhere in the 30’s-40’s. Seeing as it is damaged and no one here is in love with it I guess I’ll pass. I made a quick 5x my cost off a heavily damaged beaded coin purse recently but it had an ornate metal lid. I have enough stuff laying around that won’t make me much and I don’t collect ladies purses.

I sell purses like that regularly for about $25, but they have to be perfect, no beads missing, no stains inside!
