Can anyone identify this bone cigar holder as to its origin?

Looks like deer antler, carved in Florida for the tourist trade, probably late 19th - early 20th century. Not 'tribal art'...

I have a similar piece, a paper knife marked "Lookout Mt." Carved in Lookout Mountain, Tennessee. Yours is a cigar or cheroot holder. I think using cheroot will boost your viewers

That's a fine article on aarf.com, Dragonfly! I've never found a mark on mine.

 

Scoutshouse - your paper knife appears to be orange wood, almost certainly would have been carved here in Florida, wholesaled to a Tennessee vendor. I've seen them with marked with locations as far north as New Jersey, never have really understood the logic, gators were unlikely to have been found in TN, especially in the mountains, and even farther north is just plain silly...
