    Looks like a Stanley 358.....missing some parts.

    Looks more like the older Stanley 235B, which had saw guides with large, black, knob-like tops. That model was in production for decades and hundreds of thousands must have been produced.

    Thanks-glad you found that. The 2246 is like the 3-digit models but has fewer parts. That's perfectly logical, of course, fewer parts and more digits in the model number.
