Makanudo There is no such thing as simple.Simple is hard.

It's 6.75in and made of plaster, replica of a serbian medieval coin. I have six more, all different. I would like your input if their purpose is purely decorative.

Just wondering but . . . should it be called a "trivet" in the strictest sense of that word?

Doesn't the word "trivet" denote that it would have "legs" (three) on the bottom to give "breathing room" between the bottom of the object placed on it and the surface on which the "trivet" is placed? ;)

Can't imagine carrying those around in a pocket. ;)

Trivet, wall plaque, something those lines.

In my experience .....the word has evolved to include flat items ....used for the same purpose.

I agree with that (and also agree with your earlier suggestion of possibly a wall plaque).;)

Put things down on thin plaster and pretty soon you have several pieces of plaster.

Reminds me of the sort of decorative thingy that would cover a 6" wood stove pipe hole in the summertime, except that I don't see a hanger on the top of the back - is there one?

    Basically...
In this case it meant making a mould identical to the coin , than preparing plaster(thin layer) and presing it into the mould, than putting into high heat oven, letting it cool and than painting in a silver tone that resembles antique coins.
Basically... np fuss at all :)
