I am not sure about the original usage and age of this bottle.
    Probably medicinal, but how old?
    Appreciate your input on this.

I don't seen anything particularly "medicinal" about this bottle. What gives you that impression, Mak?

Well, the colour, glass stopper and the long neck made me think it was an older pharmacy bottle.

I'm surprised to hear that, Mak. Particularly the colour.

The shape - that narrowing at the bottom, specifically - made me think decanter - as in spirits. Perhaps pharmacy bottles look different over there than they do here.

Way to go Gila. Good key word for searching! Mushroom stopper decanter.

Like the time I finally pinned down the name of an American china pattern by googling, "Not Quimper."

Aren't med bottles, and prescription bottles, this color to cut light penetration down?

No. Those are generally darker than this light amber - almost brown.

At six inches, this looks like a depression era vanity bottle.
    Not medicine.

That's what I was thinking too - vanity set bottle of some sort. The stopper top is all wrong for a medicinal bottle.

Yes, but look at the shape.
It fits on the shelf nestled up to other bottles.
Also the stoppers and necks of medicine bottle are usually ground to make for a tighter fit.

Your bottle has a stylized shape with a smooth stopper and neck.

    Adding:
The medicine bottle is made of heavier glass, and allows for maximum content without sticking to inside grooves.

    Yes.
I think it had medicinal use in terms of usage not that it was a pharmacist bottle.
The shape especially makes me believe this, because it is like cut in half at the belly and the lower part of the bottle also is clearly divided which indicates some measurement to me. It doesnt look like perfume bottle or like liqeur bottle.

It sure looks like decorative glass to me. It does not look old
