Repousse copper tray

    Looking for the country of origin on this copper tray, 13" diameter , with what looks like pewter or leaded rim ? The center depicts flowers & birds, outer portion vines & leaves. s-l1600.jpg s-l1600 (4).jpg

    Photos of the backside? The front surface has a strange texture.

    The flowers are very close to what we see on Isnik pottery or Rhodian ware ...so maybe, like the pottery, Turkish?

    Could be Turkish, but could also be Persian? It is not something I have seen before, but an intricate design like that on copper, as opposed to brass, is often Persian.

    I wondered about that, too. Seeing the dimensions, though, it would be a rather small table.
