Like I said before Tio must have thought extremely highly of this to bring it back from overseas....It didn't fit in his pocket !!!

    GaleriaGila Hola, y'all!

I wish I had asked for the story just once... know what? I'm gonna see if I can scare up a few older relatives and see if they know something. Some of them are in New Mexico and without social media and will have to be called or snail-mailed. To be continued!!!

I'm late to the party, but will definitely vote with the latter majority. Dust it off, add your removable items - lilies - but otherwise leave as is.

Especially since you admitted to your treatment of tripe, I like you more. That was the ONLY piece of food I refused to even look at. I happen to LOVE liver and do eat absolutely anything - except the lining of a cow's stomach.

The value of that item is completely in your heart, not your wallet.

That's true, but after watching Monuments Men twice....there may be wallet value there as well !!!

Tío Antonio did not bring it home to add to his retirement fund. And he will remain grateful that his favorite niece feels the same way.

Besides, the chances of a Nazi victim's family claiming St. Anthony is a bit remote. Statute of limitations aside.

    So there!!!! :p

None on this I don't think.
I expect it depends much where it was and who carved it.

Only if it's found to be made by a famous carver & the baby's only hand starts to bleed after Christmas !

Then thousands will flock...( the bird thread :hilarious:) to your home , to pray at her feet.

You can charge a crisp $20 per person.....and retire to Cancun ! ;);):rolleyes:
