I bought these CH Field Haviland Limoges Bullion soup cups and saucers the other day and was wondering is there any way to date? or get a pattern number? I have researched and all the flowers are all starting to look the same LOL. And by what I have read would they date between 1900 and 1941? TIAS everybody!!! Yes they are, I only got two sets of the cups and saucers and they are in really good condition. For 1$ I couldn't pass them up.

Welcome to the wacky world of trying to identify Haviland patterns - a sure way to drive anyone insane! Replacement Ltd. searches don't help much with Haviland patterns. There are thousands of Haviland patterns out there and Replacements covers only a portion of them. On top of that their categorization system does not allow for easy searching - they don't list enough descriptors for a company with so many unnamed patterns. "Pink Roses" was a very popular decoration for that company so searching under that term will bring up thousands of matches.

If the plan was to sell I would list them as Charles Haviland bullion sets (2) - pink roses, green vine. Include a close-up picture of the pattern. The folks that are looking for them will find them.

Oh, yes. I confirmed the GDA dates in my Limoges book and you are spot on. I would think your pieces date to the earlier half of that date range but can't provide you with a reference on that. Just a feeling based on the design. Those are sweet pieces but could be a tough sell. Make sure you set your starting price at what you're willing to sell them for as you might get only one bid. Best of luck!

One thing I learned was that sometimes the pattern refers to the basic shape of the piece and not the decoration! Very confusing.
