I'm sort of sorry Terry found another. It would have been nice if it was Roman, but it is what it is. At least it's not junk.

It's...well, let's just say I can see a lot of gentlemen and a few ladies being interested in owning one.

& I'll add this.....found on a country walking path......there must be some story behind it ...as to how or why a gentleman would walk away from such a ring!

    Hi,
I had a guy from the Met look at the spear tip. He is the one who gave the possible dates. He also said it might have been from Iraq and lost in Iran. Just one of my "treasures" that will be tossed when I'm gone.

I`ve shown this before but there are many more members here now so if you have seen it before I apologise.

Its a 1st century lead pommel from a Celtic dagger found by me with a detector down my lane.
The head is lead and the neck is ferrous.

Here`s the last batch of coins I found locally.
They all mostly went in the copper scrap bin

    (American detectorists scream Nooooooo) :D

I'd go near a 6-foot Pole.(LOL) Grandpa was only about 5'8". Greg, get a label on that spearhead; some grandkid or other will think it's fascinating. As for those coins, I agree the scrap bin's about where they belong. Another idea would be to sell them to an artisan jeweler to drill and make into one heckuva coin necklace.

Well the Navajo, & other 1st Nations have been using old coins on & for their jewelry for quite some time, & he though he'd try his hand at it .

It's mostly a hobby for family and friends....until someone sees one and asks him to make one up for them.

They're rough, but with a certain Je Ne Sais Quoi..!
