Metal ashtray help

    They look similar , but a porringer is not meant for wine, and has a flat mostly pierced handle ...or two handles...

    I didnt know such a thing existed.
    Thank you for clearing out this for me.
    I tried various searches regarding makers mark - The Angel, but to no avail.

    Looks like a caravel such as Columbus' Santa Maria. With those crisses on the sails are certainly like what was on Spanish sails back when. Wonder if this was done for the 500th anniversary celebration of Columbus, etc. - 1492-1992?

    Thank you Susan for joining in on this subject. I bought it thinking it was a small older ashtray with a spanish ship(I did think it might have depicted one of three ships important for American history). I dont know if it is anniversay edition. It was made in Germany. Paper box looks older by design.
