Indian for almost certain, so I'd guess a sari too. If it's not Indian, it was made for sale in India.

The red 8-petal design is a lotus flower, a symbol of India.

My sis-in-law just got back from a marriage in India, and had things looking just like that... parts and accents for saris!

A sari is generally 4 yards long. 20 feet seems too long. Can you show a picture of the entire piece? My son-in-law is Indian and my daughter has quite a few saris and I've never seen one that looked quite like this. I'm thinking bedspread or curtain.

If you click on "Full Image" your photo will appear in the body of the post and we won't have to click on it.

An Indian piece of material, maybe a sari but could be just a wallhanging or bed spread. Fairly common in a lot of import shops.

Four feet? So about 6 metres long? Yeah as Bev stated, probably too long for a sari..also Saris are usually made in softer, thinner material such as silk or a lighter cotton.

20 feet long. Just wanted to make sure that wasn't lost along the way.

My daughter is tiny so she can wear saris. They don't make them in my size! Actually, they are all made the same size, but there wouldn't be enough to wrap around me. LOL

Oh, BEV, is that you in your Christmas fineries? How beautiful. And you have a sweet smile.
So... what do full-figured Indian women do? Have saris custom-made? Sew two saris together?
Unless you were making a joke, in which case... Gila misses another one!

There aren't any full-figured Indian women my size - 22. They are all tiny things, even the plump ones. My son-in-laws family are all so small and beautiful I feel like Andre the Giant next to them.

Yep, this is me for the holidays. My last appearance with the last week in December at our local nursing home. Mrs. Claus has flown back to the North Pole now. I'd better change my avatar.
