Featured Cat Brooch - Anyone Recognize the Mark?

I know I have seen this mark before, but I don't know if I've ever identified it. Anyone have any idea?

 

A Catouche?

I futzed with it a bit to see if I could get it to where I can see it - it might be more visible to me, but I still don't know what it is. LOL

 

Thanks Messilane. I didn't realize how much glare there was on the picture until I posted it here. I'll see if I can get one a little better.

It looks like a squiggly "M" or "W" to me, but I couldn't find the mark anywhere or a similar brooch.

It's just costume jewelry so I don't know how much the maker's name matters pricewise, but I'd like to know the maker for future reference.

 

Try looking at it in the dark at an angle with a flashlight.

 

I know I have had pieces with it as well, but never could figure out what it was.

 

p.s. It is tiny but a pencil rubbing may help too.

 

It's a Chinese company who made lots of these enamel brooches in the 80s. I've one on its original card - Fish Enterprises.

My daughter commandeered the computer from me a couple of days ago while I was looking at posts, and she changed it on me. I miss ma squirrel-y!

 

Love it! Looks just like one of my cats.

 

So make her change it back! I miss squirrel-y too!

 

It looks like a Claw mark.

 

I probably will soon....gonna let her have her way for a couple of days...lol.
