Hi, I think this is a fun little thing (as well as being a bit of cheap tat made for the export market).

    It's about 4 3/4 inches tall. There's no maker's mark that I can see.

I hope there are a few members here that are familiar with these pots. I found quite a few similar pots through Google Lens - but with lots of varying descriptions....

    I have several questions.

Is it Chinese? I see very similar teapots listed as Tibetan.

Is the body ceramic / porcelain? My sense is that it's enamel on metal but I'm not at all sure.

Does the monkey finial pertain to the Chinese zodiac? (I see a few with rat and rabbit finials.) Are these pots made for New Year's celebrations?

    Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!

Love the monkey. Knee jerk its made to look older than it is. Pretty thing.

Just an error. The system won't let you simply delete once you start writing.

At that size, I'd think it's a water dropper. Chinese ink comes in cakes, and you have to add water in small bits to be able to use it. Think cake watercolors.
