May be from a childs tool kit.
I had a real miniature tool kit when I was a kid, it got taken away from me because I was sawing through door and window frames and hammering nails in trees.

I do see that it looks fragile and childish, but is it pre wwII in your opinion or not?

    I wish!
It's a Google image of a typical, though somewhat more well supplied, "Boys Tool Box" popular in the late 1800s/early 1900s. The lithography inside the tops is always the first thing to grab my attention. They're often found empty or with just a couple of tools. Most sets you see like the above are usually "assembled" sets. In other words not original tools. Period tools yes, just not original to the box.

I got one of those chemistry sets (can you imagine chemicals like that available to kids today ?!? ) and it had a recipe for fake blood,so I whipped up a batch, covered myself with it and went into the back yard and let out a scream and flopped on the ground. My mother and grandmother came running out, started screaming to high heaven and panicking, and when I sat up laughing I got the butt whoopin of my young life ! Mother cried the whole time she was flailing those hands ! LOL !

    LOL
Its always better to fake it than for it to be a real thing though.

I still have my Handy Andy tool box with most of the tools. I got it for my 8th birthday. No dolls for me! I was a tomboy.
