In my country (country of origin of these crosses) you dont find these crosses often, but if you do they are usually not very expensive.
So I just buy them whenever I find them for cheap.
One cross is all original with nice quality foiled back rose cut diamonds. The second cross also has nice big stones, but it misses its complete center part.
The third cross misses its top part, its center stone and some surrounding stones.
I do happen to have a part laying around that could make a good center part for the second cross.
I m still not sure if I would pair them because the part I had laying around only has a tiny size senaille/diamond...what would you do?
For comparison I show you in the last two pictures my other Flemish crosses and a 'Vlaams Hart' to show you how some of these crosses also have a top part and others have a gold ring just like the Heart.
So...what do you think? Let the second cross be repaired or wait till I find the 'perfect' middle part?

It looks unusual without the central part, and you might want to be more creative with it, (since you’ve already got so many!) i.e. a different colored stone … just leave it and one day you might find the perfect component to go in.

I love these cross too, but I need to pay more than 800 euro to get one:(

    Dessert, you lucky, lucky girl!:woot::woot::happy::kiss:
Wait until you find the perfect middle part, which no doubt you will. The dangle is a lovely piece, but just not the right 'fit' for the cross.

I agree, not the easiest background to pick out Flemish crosses from.;)

Dessert, please bring back the Dutch literature.

Bosko, you combined two posts by two people in two different countries.

    1) Dessert finds them for bargain prices, so she buys them.

    2) Shamster finds them for 800 euros, so she doesn't buy them.

    Shamster, thanks for the advice.
l will wait till I get a better fitted middle part, but these crosses never had colored stones, only foiled diamonds...I dont think I would ever by able to put a colored stone in one. It just would not feel right :zombie:

bosko, the crosses are not cheap...I just dont like to pay up for anything.
I guess I have some Holland blood running trough my veins.
I never paid more than 400€ for a piece of jewelry (an amazing sixties Sputnik gold ring).

Crazy traders went everywhere. I always say I may well have distant cousins in lots of odd places; great-grandpa's brother was a sailor on trading vessels. :cigar::cigar::cigar::D:D:D

IMG_4264.jpeg Well, here is a picture of the crosses that might be easier on the eye.
You can also spot a picture of the Belgian 'Wallis Simpson' :hilarious:
You can look up 'Lilian Baels' if you are interested in some info on a King that had to give up his crown and some juicy gossip about a future king that possibly had an affaire with his own stephmother :D
I m not a royalist btw, but I think they might be the lesser of two evils.

Much prettier though. Leopold III had a good eye for women, queen Astrid was also a beauty. There is some resemblance between the two wives, in looks at least.
I knew about king Leopold, but didn't know that last juicy bit. Do tell.:hungry::joyful:

About the king's beautiful wives, this is his first wife queen Astrid, who died tragically in a road accident. My grandmother had a prayer card with this photo in her prayer book (we have Belgian relatives):

AJ, yes, Astrid did make it as a queen.
So this is the gossip about Lilian en King Boudewijn according to our Prime Minister at the time: “Het verhaal ontvouwt zich in 1952, toen Boudewijn 22 was en Lilian 36. Het boek ‘Fabiola, Koningin in het wit' uit 1995 beschrijft hoe koning Boudewijn ‘de volmaakte elegantie van zijn stiefmoeder ontdekte aan het begin van zijn puberteit.’ Boudewijn en Lilian maakten meermaals samen incognito-reizen, onder andere naar Rome, zonder de aanwezigheid van koning Leopold. Deze ongebruikelijke reisarrangementen baarden opzien bij de toenmalige regering.”
So they made unescorted train trips together in a sleeping train. Which was not done in that time.:angelic:
I have this book which gives lots of info about some amazing jewelry:

So much for the saintly Boudewijn.:angelic: Sounds like he was very young though, and maybe he became saintly later on to atone for his early sins.:playful:

I did hear that one. I like Adamo, so I can imagine she liked him too. And they were both Italian, so that created a bond.
