What is this? Twisty stand thing!

    Not sure even how to describe this! Ive image searched and drawn blank.
    The diamond mark dates the registration to April 1848.
    Any help please? Thankyou :)

    I think a Door Stop or door porter, is it heavy ?

    No, it’s fairly light, pot metal of some sort :confused:

    It's a piece of something. Piece of what is a good question, especially since there seems to be no way to fasten it to anything else. The base as is would be awfully tippy.

    I'm dreadful at searching Rd numbers but I found this though no idea how it would work if correct. I can't read the Rd clearly but if you think April then this toast rack was from 25 April 1848 by Broadhead & Atkin. No photo of the item so no idea if it's related or not. Sorry.

    Letter on left is an H
    Number on the right could be a 26 or a squashed 25?
    Year letter at the top under the material sign is a U.

    I’m way worse! I just tried to search 26th April and I couldn’t even find my way into the catalogue :rolleyes:
