Looking this up some images similar point to Adrian Reed as the designer and others point to Roger Tallon both around 70s-80s Am wondering does anyone know how to tell the difference? Mine is 30 cm in diameter and 47cm in height Thanks for any info
It is called the Suzy stool. When I googled Suzy stool all I saw was Adrian Reed, who designed it for Princes Design Works, London in the '80s. That doesn't mean they can't be wrong though, so let's wait for the others. @Ownedbybear may know.
Thanks Any Jewelry. These show up online too described as French TS folding stools by Roger Tallon for Sentou, so im a bit confused as they look very sinilar to Adrian Reed Suzy stools.
So am I. The Suzy stools were made of beech, and according to the listing you posted the Roger Tallon stool is made of maple. Maybe that is how you could ID it, although the design is still the same, so the confusion is still there. If it is any help, yours looks like beech to me, but I am no expert on wood. @verybrad , could you take a look at the type of wood please?
This is neither beech nor maple. It is some kind of imported hardwood (Malaysian rubberwood?). As such, looks like it could be a knock-off to me. Do the originals use these nylon hinges?

This Suzy stool with label has Japanese and S. Korea patents and is definitely not beech. Maybe the originals were made in The UK and later ones imported? Thanks for looking Verybrad. Heres picture of hinges of the Roger Tallon eg. Which seems to have the same hinges.Other eg. Online described as Suzy stools also seem to have same hinges.
I had one in black that I found at a thrift. I probably had it for 10 years or so. I think I decided it was a knock off and when no one around here wanted it, I think I recently donated it back to a community thrift. I did research it some but it was years ago so I don't remember exactly why I accepted it as a copy. Anyway, here is a photo still have of it.
