Small glasses, sherry perhaps

    I picked these up a couple of weeks ago. Google image results keeps coming back with all sorts of fantastical antique results. However no pontil and no signs of wear on the base. They do have a sort of hand made feel about them though. Anyone any idea of age or origin please?

    Not a traditional sherry glass. Cordials, I'd think.

    English and Edwardian, I’ve had some. They were indeed used for sherry and port at that time. Although the Spanish use proper copitas, which I like greatly, we didn’t. I loathe those schooner shapes.

    The dimples play with the colour of the wine, nice detail.

    I'm quite partial to a drop of port. Which is veddy veddy Brit, of course. I've often used it rather than cough mixture too. Much nicer and it works.

    Must buy some white port....

    I've been too partial to it recently. Taylors 10 year old tawny in ALDI. A bit heavy on the head in the morning though

    Edit, never heard of white port.

    I have a recipe for cranberry jelly that I make for Thanksgiving here in the US that includes ruby port. Happily it calls for no where near a bottle full, so I am "forced" to do away with the rest, a small glass each evening until it's gone :)

    I suffer so ;)

    Such a trial! Lamb chops baked in a mix of port and redcurrant jelly are rather fine.

    White port is an aperitif, served cold and jolly nice.
