There was a time when you could buy morphine at a drugstore with no prescription. Up until about 12 years ago, I could get cough syrup with codeine with just a signature.

Novocain is a local anesthetic so it would not have numbed very much & it also doesn't last very long.

I found a French one made about the same way, centuries ago. At least I think it was French. No idea what happened to it.

I'm not allergic; I just get nasty side effects. Topicals ending in "caine" are not my friends. I'm not sure what use novocaine would be to someone other than to numb a small localized area. Unless he liked the side effects of course; he was weird enough that you never can tell.

It could be since he was an addict he likely chose the substance of his addiction over any person in his life.

It makes me think, again, there's always 'someone out there' who would /could make a partner.

So weird that in this technologically connected world, there's still so many lonely, isolated people.

 

Love has nothing to do with appearance, it is the inside that counts. Intellectually intelligent I wonder if he had a form of Asperger’s. I am just so curious. Or perhaps an entitled spoiled brat?

 

I agree its the inside that counts most,but Im a former very shallow and superficial 80's bar fly,the most plastic people on planet earth ! Thankfully I grew out of it but old habits die hard. Something triggered this fellows slide and Im sorry,but it wasnt just pot. Im sure it didnt help his mental issues but Ive never known anyone who deteriorated solely due to pot . Believe me,ive known many,many druggies. I am very intrigued by this story and Im hoping Davey stumbles across an answer. A stack of love letters or a scrapbook of a tragic love !

 

Addiction. Maybe self-medication into the bargain. A lot of schizophrenics do that before they're diagnosed. Bipolar folks too.

 

Pot helps a lot of people but I've certainly seen it cause issues for others....just like any medication or addiction. Certainly I've known more than one who spent their lives shut in and barely functioning because being high was more interesting/easy. I'm not saying that was this guy, but it's not a rarity. I have plenty of friends and family who use it so I'm not casting guilt lol.
