Actually, it will be going up for auction pretty quick after I have finished.

There are no funds in the estate and I don't get paid until the place is sold.

The lawyers who are dealing with it are out of town and have never visited the property.
They are taking instructions from a distant relative in Germany.

I have had to inform the lawyers that there is a 50-foot tall tree one metre from the bay window of the house, the roots will have spread into the foundations, I'm no surveyor, but they will need a tree surgeon PDQ to take it down.

It's in a poor area of town, I have no doubt it will be a landlord that buys the house, he will send a team of builders, fitters, plumbers and sparkies in and gut the place and have it ready for rental within weeks.

    Here's the tree.

The building on the outside is very nice. The mantle clocks are beautiful. The car I wonder if it held significance to him. He was a ingenuitive in figuring the electrical.

You’d be amazed what gets refurbished here. Don’t forget our houses are pretty well all brick. Take it back to the skeleton and it’ll be fine.

Thanks for posting this Davey, it’s been very interesting. I would have liked to have done clearance jobs myself with one of my brothers, too late now:(

Take it back to the studs...and get rid of that tree. It's salvageable, but someone's going to do a job of work. Worth it in the UK since housing prices are sky high.

Buyer would never get a mortgage or property insurance.
No light gets in the front rooms, no one would buy it or rent it.

It's in my interest the house sells, and the estate is settled, so I get paid

The house on this lot originally had 2 humongous pine trees less than 2 feet from one part of the house. Needless to say, they were part of the 20+ trees that were removed from the property after the house was torn down & before anyone asks yes there were still trees on the property.

We are required to have trees in Florida that are native. They recently changed a state law no longer requiring palm trees, which our HOA does not abide by. Someone had the bight idea to place oak trees by our mail boxes when they were building our community, I questioned the roots as they are thick (we built our house) 25 years later they are discovering they can damage pipes.

That thing in the photo is a leylandii and they’re a menace. Shallow rooted and very fine roots though, and easy to kill.

The internal walls on that house will be solid brick.

Went to a church sale and an antique show yesterday. Of course, it was a battle at the jewelry tables. I spent too much for my liking on the 14k and 10k rings, but gold is gold. Ruby ring 14k, linde star with diamond chips 10k, solitaire holds a green amethyst.

Plate of goodies. Bracelets were $2, brooches $4, earrings $3. Gilson opal earrings, sand dollar necklace, Ariel earrings, marcasite hoop earrings, family tree brooch all sterling. Blister pearl sterling pendant $10; amber pendant sterling $4.

I love this $4 sterling brooch.

This vintage Italian millifiori pendant with sterling findings was $2.

Not much I wanted at the antique show, it was slow this year. These brooches were $10 each, cameo seems to be set in brass, marcasite brooch seems to be a base metal.

Note: the cameo appears to be GF. Cleaned up beautifully with a Sunshine cloth.

The millefiori pendant is definitely my style. The ruby ring looks like it was made for Avon; they used that design for things made for salespeople. It was never actually sold.

I did Google lens the ruby ring...could have been a special award made in 14k...it's slightly different from most in the line.

My wife says I'm not allowed to go to any more estate sales after I brought this home:

It's ...interesting.... If it was signed by a listed artist and worth a pile, she might like it better. Then again maybe not.
