I must admit, the Daum label makes up for a lot.

I've had a busy year and obtained, gold, silver, watches, jewellery, antiques and coins, but nothing stands out as the best of the year.

So my best is my new car, and I had to pay for it:D

I've got my private plates on it now but still not done 1000 miles.

I bought this fantastic pitcher in a local on-line auction this year. It was part of a glass lot, and the photo of the pitcher showed only the side with the ivy, which I loved. I examined the photo for a week as the auction date got closer. I spied a foot, just toes really, peeking through the grape leaves. The image on the other side not shown. When I went to pick it up, I saw the beautiful woman and just started laughing. The estate guy thought I was nuts. Signed by a master glass cutter, around 1900. A fraction of what it's worth. Best find ever. Fritchie.jpg Engraved.jpg Fritchie2.jpg

I think this was about my best for the year L E Smith "Bittersweet" vase, I think it was just shy of 36" tall or close to it. I had to wait until I had the opportunity to rent a new locked case so I could adjust the shelf to fit it. It sold in 10 days.

Best way to show it. You really get a sense of the height.

    1. Not my personal style
    2. But I understand the attraction, especially in this case.

I've hung with too many artists and artisans. That thing was WORK. I hope the original artist was paid a pretty penny. Probably wasn't..(grouse) No wonder nobody wants to work any more.
