porcelain statue 1.JPG porcelain statue 2.JPG I work for a volunteer store where people donate stuff and today we got a lot of antiques. Most of it I can identify but one of which I have a problem with, hence the reason I joined. The piece is known as a "putto" a small boy on a golden ball, but the markings on the bottom are unknown to me, or to the catalog i use for identification. I hope someone can help me find out where the marking is from. Thank you in advance for your information.

I don't know if this is your mark or not as its a bit blurry but might be a direction to search.

Hello @VintageLucas & welcome to the forum!!:happy:

I think your piece may be a flower frog. Similar pieces are shown on page 106 of Flower Frogs for Collectors by Bonnie Bull.

Agreed on flower frog. I bet he's quite cute when surrounded by blooms.

That seems to be exactly what it is, we were wondering because this design known at "putti" is quite popular but less so in a flower frog design, so harder to find. Thank you!

Your eyes are much sharper than mine -- I thought at first an N with a crown (faux Naples marks that abound), but you cracked it! Super Sleuth SIS!

There's only the one in this design so it's a putto. :playful:
