These are 'chopsticks' specifically made for picking up coals in a hibachi; tending the fire. Made of hand-formed copper, they're 11 3/8" long, ~5/16" diameter; the pair weigh 257 grams.
I've got a couple pair that are much more art than utility...I'll find them an' post here when I do...soon, I hope. Thanks for lookin'!

Those look useful, just don't leave them touching the grill and touch them bare-handed. Yeeeowch!

Magnificent little tools Whit, they're reminiscent of ancient Ninja death needles (though of course dulled for display purposes).
These antique Shuriken are as you know Whitti-San made of cast iron :

Had I stumbled across those while picking/hunting, I would have assumed they were for crochet LOL! :wacky:

Well...this one's a solo; 10 1/2" long, made of one piece of 4.5mm hard copper wire, wrapped 17 times on itself. Shows age an' appropriate wear; it weighs 102 grams.

This pair an' the next are from Leonard's hoard. These are 11 3/8" long, tapering from 7.0mm to 3.8mm...and are hollow, having been rolled from sheet stock that had been edge-sculpted along ~4 1/2 inches of its central length; the seam can be seen in pics 2 & 4, extending toward the tip. That strongly suggests the material was in the form of a long, narrow triangle, prior to rolling into form. They're perhaps CuNi (copper-nickel) or some other alloy of copper; they're non-ferrous. Their big end are bull-nosed closed, but the tips are open by maybe .75mm (no pic).
They may be Meiji, based on the obvious skill of the artisan...or perhaps somewhat newer. They're very high on the list of favorite items from uncle Leonard.

This pair are very much smaller than those above; 8 1/8" long, 4mm square grips, the shafts subtly tapered from ~3.05mm to ~2.70mm along ~4 1/2"; they're also a copper alloy, possibly CuNi. these, as above, show little if any use...the box has been repurposed for them. As always, Thanks for lookin'!
