IMG_9880.jpeg IMG_9879.jpeg IMG_9878.jpeg IMG_9877.jpeg IMG_9875.jpeg IMG_9874.jpeg IMG_9876.jpeg Hi all,I rather like this a lot. Handprint with a title (obviously something about a hill)The signature is it “W.H with a date” or “W.Hes” or something? Please let me know what you think. Frame size: 41cm x 37cm. I think it has some age. Some foxing showing that will need to be adressed. Thanks for any comments and keep well

    Yes, a hill.
Unfortunately I can only make out the last two words: Anfänger Hügel, beginners' hill.;) Which is why they tumble down.

Thanks AJ,I only got the ‘hill’ part. Beginners makes sense now.. I like how the one character looks angrily (at you/us) or maybe frustrated and other head down in despair.I also think the little golden frame suits it well.

The image is very pixilated. I'm amazed that Any Jewelry could read it! Good job.

I think the first word is hand-something. Hand-colored maybe? This is a print skiiers would like.

The skiers copy the poses of the two mourning figures on Michelangelo's tomb of
    Giuliano de Medici -

"The reclining figures on the sarcophagus of the Duke Giuliano represent Night and Day, and are supposed to be symbolic of death and resurrection. Night is a woman lying with head sunk upon the breast in a deep sleep. She is crowned with a crescent moon and star, and an owl is placed at her feet. The mask beneath her pillow symbolizes the body from which the spirit has departed. Though the figure is not beautiful in the Greek sense, it is grand and queenly. Opposite is Day, an unfinished captive, his head half freed from the stone, the arms rigid, the body contorted."
