Featured Victorian Brass buckle CR & mark ?

    Hiya all,

    Does anyone know the makers mark?

    I really like it! I'm especially fond of the two wee hoops at the extremes of the joint, which prevent misalignment along that seam...simple an' clever.

    I don't understand how it would come apart to function as a buckle. The two "wee hoops" can't act as hinges, and there is no separation visible in the boss in the center front.

    You can see the seam at top & bottom center (pic 1 & 2)...but the entire portion that has 2 lions-heads, a central oval, an' a scallop are part of the left-hand half (as shown...right hand as worn) of the buckle; it covers the seam along most of its length.
    Any chance it will be offered for sale, Steve?

    I read the mark as C&R, which does not quite fit unless Hettel used his first name.
