Bronze lampbase

    First post on this great forum. I have had this lampbase for a few years. Im pretty sure its bronze(its very gold) I dont think its cast although it might be. The construction if its not cast is fabulous. Id always thought it was unmarked, but, when I got it out of packing I gave it another look and noticed a small indentation that looks like two back to back Rs. The base came from a very nice house in England. I cant tell if it has a lot of age although the bayonet has 'Made in England; So I would assume it has some.

    Aah the ol' Banana For Scale.

    Pics of the bottom and the plug (if it hasn't been rewired) are helpful too. :D

    I'll agree about hand-arbeit...that isn't a casting, neither the base or the staff. Very uniformly made linked-curls! You've got a sweet treasure for your initiation here, Adam...Welcome!

    Very nice. Would say secessionist in design. Would fit with it possibly being Austrian.
