Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

I've had a copy of this one for a long time. Quite informative, and taught me some things when I was first trying to find some information on how to identify jewelry. It is a rather small book (in size, not in information) and I'm surprised that it would cost so much. I also have her "Answers to questions..." For some reason I've used that one less often, although it is much larger than the detective one. Perhaps I just didn't want to wade too deeply...

I think the two books by Jeanenne Bell are very informative. On the other hand, I bought them quite a while ago and prices may have gone up. I've used the "detective" one quite a bit along with other books and internet to try to analyze my own small collection.

This week received Cameos and Engraved Gems by Mitsuhisa Maekawa, based mainly on photo of cover. It is in Japanese & English. For the price I was expecting a full color volume. However, most of the illustrations are black & white photos or line drawings. The rest of the review I have written before:
This is a 'people keep telling me I should write a book' book.

I'm looking at books I can ask for for Christmas, and wanted to ask about these to see if anyone has read them/can recommend?

    The Price Guide To Jewellery 3000BC - 1950AD ; Poynder, Michael, 1988
Antique Paste Jewellery ; MDS Lewis, 1970
Collecting Miniature Antiques ; G.Bernard Hughes, Therle Hughes, 1973

    Thanks!

I am not familiar with any of these... but would mention that a price guide as old as 1988 would be unlikely to be accurate as to prices. However, there could be photographs and other information that would be worth consulting.

Indeed thats what I was thinking, but could offer some fun bits nonetheless. I have sotheby's price guide from around the same year and its lovely. I'm sad they don't do them anymore, I keep searching for a 2020+ one but they don't exist!
