I found this vintage matador jacket with pearls throughout it ?including hanging off cuffs) at a local thrift store I go to every weekday.
I asked my friend who is the manager what he wanted for it & he said $100!
I don't usually buy clothes there except if i found a old concert t-shirt, or a themed jacket - like Nascar), but it was so cool looking & obviously had age, so i offered $60 and he said $75.
Then i did an image search and 1 similar - ish one by Jean Paul Gaultier came up with a $50,000 price on it!
Now i didnt think mine was by him, but mine doesn't have any tags & looking at the pics of the Gaultier one didn't show any tags - so I bought it.
Now to clarify, I'm a 64 yr old male picker, so please don't laugh too much! Also my friend told me after telling me he wanted $100 for it & noticed the look of shock i must have had on my face, "Loom at ut Charlie, its obviously vintage, well made and gorgeous. If you took it to any vintage store itd be worth $300 at least.
So I'm hoping someone here can tell me anything about this matador style jacket with embroidery and pearls - please?
Also, first 2 photos taken at thrift & then outside ; insude at home with my phone.
Last photo is if a 1950's(?) Girls varsity sweater? For that he only charged me $10 - maybe why the initial $100 charge for pearl jacket shocked me! (Is it from 50's? A varsity/sports letterman sweater?
Thank you for any help with this!

In English, a jacket of this style is called a bolero. If no label, it is most likely tailor-made. Probably came with matching dress. Lining should be silk. Design a bit too crude for Hong Kong, I'd think. Hard to date since style has been popular on and off since the mid-1800s. Yours, of course, much newer.

The school sweater doesn't appear to be vintage. Or, if so, just so. Better photographs would help identify/date.

Ask & ye shall receive! Any idea what the difference initials are for (school probably - and track is the sport because of the feet?

The beaded bolero/matador jacket doesn't look that old to me... 90s or newer, possibly?
The school sweater label looks 80s. East-Tenn Mills registered their name in 1984 and the registration was cancelled or expired in 2005.

GCL stands for Greater Catholic League so I suspect the high school is Purcell Marion in Cincinnati. Given its generous cut, I would think 1980s about right for sweater.

The tags and sweater itself made me think 1980s. The bolero I'm not hip on, but I can see it over a black dress. Some guys are built that small, but not many.

@journeymagazine- in looking at your pearl studded jacket, I kinda thought it looked like something Michael Jackson would have worn in concert!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But I also didn't see if you mentioned a size!!!

not sure what custom made means

but I still think irregularities point to home made or theatre costume.

I doubt homemade; it would be insanity to bead this yourself.

I think it more likely that the past owner removed any tags.

The bolero jacket reminds me of what I have worn to formals, usually a bar/bat mitzvah or a gala that is black tie, with a matching gown. When I have something tailored like that they ask if the label can be removed - makes for easier tailoring to lie flat. They are heavy in weight & very uncomfortable when leaning or sitting in a chair, and never wear them in a car with a seatbelt or you get stuck.

The sweater looks made up as if someone got a bunch of patches and sewed them randomly on a sweater. They placed oddly and while the two large Ps are newer, the Mercury foot ones look vintage.
