This piece came in one of the boxes of sterling flatware. I can find no markings of any kind. Are these usually not sterling? Is there any specific countries that are producing this style item?

Have seen a lot of older Italian silver jewellery made like this, always 800 silver. Not overly convinced this is either, just a thought.

The link given in SIS's post is very informative regarding these types of spoons. :):)

I was pretty sure this would not turn out to be sterling. I did not do too bad with the 2 lots though. There was a total of about 2 1/2 lbs. / 70 pieces of sterling with just 5 pieces included that were plate. :D:D:D

Thanks for the link SIS!!:kiss:

It does make me sad to read posts from those I know are no longer with us though. :(:(:(
