This Photograph of an Inuit girl is called "Kate Sarina" and the Photographer and Studio mark says "HG Kaiser - Arctic Studio - Home".

Unfortunately it doesn't have any writing on the back so I don't have any clue how old it may be. Possibly early 20th century??? The dimensions are 8x10 or 20x25.5cm.

Any thoughts on this picture and/or photographer, studio etc. would be great! Thanks :)

It's probably "Nome" for Nome, Alaska rather than "Home."

The girl is lovely and the image is well done.

Actually, I think the last link I provided had incorrect info. The Kaiser in the census data they cited was listed as working in horticulture at home and as a miner in Alaska.

It looks more likely that this is the H.G. Kaiser who took your photograph. His profession is listed as a photographer in the 1910 U.S. Census (profession isn't included in the screen capture below, though) and he was in Nome...

This entry in the 1920 U.S. Census may be the same gentleman. When you look at the actual Census, it looks like "Kaiser" rather than "Reiser." And he also was listed as a photographer.

This seems to be him in the 1930 U.S. Census. Here, too, he was listed as a photographer.

Could be, but the first screen shot looks about right. The second I'm not too sure. Can you post the links, please? :)

This could be the same Kaiser in the California Death Index...

I don't think it's an either/or... the first screenshot was from the 1910 Census and the second from the 1920 Census.

I'd be happy to provide links, but if you're not a member of ancestry.com you won't be able to access the pages.

I guess you're right and I missed the numbers ;) No I'm not registered at ancestry.com. Can you recommend the site? Does it cost something or is it free?

    ahhh, very likely...?

The description says ...A similar photo by Kaiser is often reprinted in "art poster" form.

So...you'd think there would be others...

The ad said the photos were produced around 1916, so that may answer your age question. I agree that there may be other copies floating around.

After reading what was said about this image being used for posters, if you haven't already looked at your copy with a loupe and checked the surface quality, you might want to to make sure it's not a reproduction.
